Steven M. Peterson, 56

 

Steven Mark Peterson, 56, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Steven was born on April 28, 1956, in Minneapolis, and adopted by Evald and Adeline Peterson of Farwell. He was baptized and confrmed at Norunga Lutheran Church, Lowry. He attended grade school in Farwell and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1974. He received an accounting degree from Fergus Falls Community College. He worked for the State of Minnesota in St. Paul. His love of cooking led him to a second career as a chef. He worked at various restaurants in St. Paul, Minneapolis, Alexandria and North Dakota. Also he was a nursing assistant and took care of the elderly at Walker-Methodist in Minneapolis and Bethany Home in Alexandria.

He had many hobbies including cooking, planting flowers, gardening, drawing, painting, music and his cherished pets. He participated in singing in a madrigal group while attending Fergus Falls Community College.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Evald and Adeline (Anderson) Peterson. He is survived by a sister, Julene Peterson of Alexandria and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 25, at Norunga Lutheran Church, rural Lowry. Interment was held at Norunga Lutheran Church cemetery.
