Sharon Bennett Wenner, 76

Sharon Bennett Wenner, 76, died of pneumonia on Wednesday, July 20, 2016,holding hands with her beloved children.

Sharon was born on Feb. 2, 1940, to Bertha Kleven Bennett and Chester  H. Bennett near Lowry. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1958, followed by accounting studies at the Minnesota School of Business. She worked as an accountant with John F. Wilkinson, Jr., CPA, Elliott Gassner, CPA, and Strawn, Marshall, Cunningham, Condon & Sweat, CPAs. Sharon was very involved in the lives of her granddaughters, loved classical music, attending operas and musicals with her daughter, was an avid reader and was active in her community. Sharon was known in the hospital clowning community as "Pinky the Clown," bringing laughter and smiles to hospital patients throughout the Tampa Bay area. She was a member of Clowns Galore Alley #194, a World Clown Member and enjoyed spending time with her Scarlet O’Hatter sisters of the Red Hat organization. She was a kind person and a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Sharon is survived and deeply missed by her son, Steven D. Wenner; daughter, Elizabeth S. Wenner Harris(Jim); and her beloved granddaughters, Grace and Anna. She is also survived by her sisters, Beverly Bennett Braaten (John) of Alexandria and Joyce Bennett Harvey of Glenwood; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, David W. Wenner; her parents; sisters, Marjorie BennettJensen and Lavina Bennett Mortenson; and brothers, Chester W. Bennett (Bud) and Glenn Bennett.

A memorial service will be held for Sharon on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 7820 38th Avenue N., St. Petersburg, Fla. 33710. A reception will follow directly after. Donations may be made in her name to the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
