Phillip J. Brosh, age 80, of Glenwood died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Lakeview Good Samaritan Center in Glenwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Fr. Michael Wolfbauer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in
Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Phillip Joseph Brosh, the son of Joseph and Lorna (Jordan) Brosh was born on June 17, 1932, in Lowry, Minnesota. He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Phil grew up on a farm East of Lowry and attended District # 7 country school. He graduated from Glenwood High School.
On July 21, 1954, he entered the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on July 14, 1956. After the service, Phillip was self-employed installing sheet rock.
In 1971, Phil was united in marriage to Earlene Gylsen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. The couple made their home in Glenwood. Phillip's dad, owned the bait shop in Glenwood and in 1971, Phil and Earlene bought the bait shop from him and continued to own and operate it for over 40 years. Phil was a member of the Glenwood VFW Post
#3815 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Phillip loved to fish! He enjoyed owning the bait shop and visiting with the customers.
In January 2012, Phil was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. When he needed assistance with his daily care, Phillip entered the Lakeview Good Samaritan Society in Glenwood. He passed away there on January 16, 2013.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 41 years, Earlene Brosh of Glenwood; nieces, nephews, ousins and friends.
