Edna M. Mork, 88

Edna M. Mork, age 88 of Lowry, completed her earthly journey and entered eternal rest in Jesus on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015 at the Bethany Community Home in Alexandria. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2nd at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Lowry with Pastor Joe Skogmo officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lowry. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Edna Mae was born on March 4, 1927 to Ed and Kate (Stellinga) Van Driel in Ogilvie, Minnesota. She attended rural school through the 8th grade and completed her education in 1944 by graduating from Ogilvie High School. Following graduation, Edna moved to St. Paul and worked for American Hoist and Derrick, eventually moving back to Mora where she worked at the Kanabec County Court House.

Edna married Clifford E. Mork on June 16, 1947 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. She continued to work at the court house, until the birth of her first son, Robert; at which time she became a full time mother and homemaker. This union was also blessed with two more sons, David and Thomas. In 1959, the Mork family moved to Lowry and purchased the Lowry State Bank. Edna served as a Bank Director for many years and in her spare time she enjoyed bowling, following her sons' athletic careers, traveling, camping and teaching her husband how to catch walleye! Edna was active in her church, St. Paulís Lutheran in Lowry, teaching Sunday school and participating in WELCA meetings and Bible studies. She served many years as an election judge, was active in Senior Citizens groups, the Council of Aging, Triad, Lowry Lions, and looked forward to her morning coffee with the girls in Lowry. She was honored by the Lowry Lions as "Citizen of the Year."

Edna is survived by her three sons: Robert (Lori) Mork of Lowry, David (Shirley) Mork of Duluth and Thomas (Jeanne) Mork of Lakeville; seven grandchildren: Megan (Ben) Shaner, Seth (Kristen Hinkley) Mork, Nathan Mork, Shiloh (Jason) Hanson, Benjamin Mork, Jennifer (Andy) Lewis and Christine Mork; six great-grandchildren: Kate, Hannah and Abilgail Shaner, Brielle and Miles Hanson, and Kendall Lewis; sister, Wilma Love of Everett, WA; brother, Donovan (Elaine) Van Driel of Mora, MN; sisters-in-law, Catherine Kordahl and Rosena Van Driel; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Mork and brother, Arthur Van Driel.
