Cleo "Pat" Swisher Robieson, 85

Cleo "Pat" Swisher Robieson, 85, of Orange City, Fla., passed away in Orange City on July 4, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood.

Cleo "Pat" Swisher Robieson, the daughter of Herold and Alice (Hulett) Swisher, was born in Bemidji on Nov. 2, 1928. She graduated from Hibbing high school in June of 1946, following which, she moved to Jacksonville, Ill. There she graduated from Harden Brown Business School and attended Mac Murray College for Women. She also work ed as a secretary for the Clarence Quintal Land Management firm during that period.

In June 1962, Pat was appointed to the United States foreign service and was posted to Saigon, Vietnam, where she worked as a secretary for the United States agency for international development. Returning to the United States, she was assigned to the White House staff in the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Vietnam affairs. She was then posted to Arusha, Tanzania, where she met and married Roy L. Robieson, formerly of Lowry. She then accompanied Mr. Robieson on his overseas work which included assignments to Amman, Jordan, Cairo, Egypt, and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

In December 1989, Mrs. Robieson and her husband retired to Arlington, Va., where they lived until December 1993, when they moved to Fredericksburg, Va. Since December of 2008, they have resided at John Knox Village in Orange City, Fla. She was a member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church.

Mrs. Robieson is survived by her husband, Roy L. Robieson of Orange City, Fla.; and a sister, Sally (Roger) McKim.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gaylord, Herold and John Swisher; and sisters, Verdith Bryne and Alice Swisher.
