Carroll T. Larson, the son of Anton and Anna (Clauson) Larson, was born on Feb. 28, 1925, in Lowry. He grew up on a farm near Lowry. When Carroll was growing up, his father was ill and he had to quit school at 15 and assume the majority of the farm work. He continued to farm for over 50 years. Carroll really loved farming; he especially loved his John Deere machinery, his cattle and dogs. He enjoyed having threshing bees for many years and spending time with his family. When he was older he enjoyed driving through the country looking at the crops and livestock. When Carroll could no longer live on his own, he entered the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. He continued to live there until he passed away on Aug. 18, 2012.
He is survived by his sister, Ruth Larson of Starbuck; brother, Quinton (Katherine) Larson of New Brighton; nieces, Dr. Anne Quinn of Pennsylvania and Karen Larson of Arkansas; and cousins, Art (Marcy) Isackson of Lowry and Marian (Ron) Wrolson of Alexandria.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Audrey Larson.
