Rose Mary (Raaum) Halls, 76

Rose Mary (Raaum) Halls, 76, of Glenwood, passed away peacefully at her home. Her husband Wally, her sons Bruce and Dale and her grandson Tyler were by her side on Sunday, July 24, 2011.

Rose was born on November 1, 1934, by Farwell, was raised as a farm girl by Lowry and went on to graduate from Glenwood High School. She married Wallace Halls (Wally) on April 24, 1954, and during their 57 years of marriage had five children, Jeanine, Bruce, Dale, Jeff and Julie. During her married years on the farm, she would work right beside the men and as hard.

Rose was known best for her lefse (Rosie's lefse) and potato klub. On holidays she loved her lefse and lutefisk. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and she loved to cook. She worked as a cook at Minnewaska Area High School. Rosie was known for her vast knowledge and was also a very neat and organized person. Rose and Wallace moved into their new lake home on Lake Minnewaska in November of 2010. Rosie was a very compassionate and loving person who will be missed very dearly by so many.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Wally; sons, Bruce Halls, Dale (Deb) Halls and Jeff (Jerri) Halls; daughter, Julie (Ron) Fettig; eight grandchildren, Rusde, Tyler, Cody, Jenny, Krissy, Jeffrey Jr, Stephanie, Ryan and Jackie; many great-grandchildren; six sisters; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hilma Raaum; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Norris Halls; and daughter, Jeanine.
