Larson, Quinton A. age 81, died Sunday, March 24, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 15 at St Philip's Lutheran Church, 6180 Highway 65 N.E. in Fridley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Quinton Larson, the son of Anton and Anna Larson, was born in Lowry, MN. Following high school, he enrolled in a teacher training course and, at age 18, taught In a one-room rural school. He went on to earn his B.A., Master's and Specialist degrees. He was teacher, then principal in Litchfield from 1955 to 1965. He moved to Columbia Heights as Principal of the new North Park Elementary School in 1965. He retired in 1993, but was soon back at work as a tutor at Calvin Academy In Roseville. In all, he served 46 years as an educator. Through these years, he continued to help his brother on the family farm during the summer months.
Quinton married Katherine Jordahl of Finley, N.D. in 1965. He will be remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather who put his trust in the Lord. He was a kind and caring man, and a faithful brother. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughters, Anne and Karen; two sons-in- law; four grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth. Quinton was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister. Memorials suggested to St. Philip's Lutheran Church, the ALS Association or donor's choice.
